How to Clean Silver Jewelry

Silver jewelry is extremely popular nowadays and you will easily find the widest choice of elegant bracelets, unique design earrings, lovely pendants, stylish necklaces and magnificent rings in sterling silver online. But we all know that jewelry is likely to become dirty due to the pollutants in the air and the oils in the skin. So, here is some information on how to clean silver jewelry. Even highly detailed pieces of silver jewelry can be cleaned by you at home.
First of all, here is the list of the things you will need:

  • 1 tbsp. baking soda
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • Aluminum foil
  • Plastic or glass bowl
  • Soft cloth

Take the aluminum foil and line the bottom of the bowl with it (with the shiny side facing up). Make sure the bowl is large enough to submerge your jewelry. And as it is said above the bowl must be glass or plastic. Don't use metal bowl!
Then fill the bowl with hot water. The bowl should be filled half way full.
Take 1 tbsp. of salt and 1 tbsp. of baking soda, add them to the water and dissolve.
Take your silver jewelry and place it into this mixture.
The jewelry should sit in the bowl for half an hour. Then you remove it and rinse under cool running water.
If any dirt or tarnish still remains, repeat the process.
Use soft cloth to dry the jewelry thoroughly.
And wear your silver jewelry with pleasure.
